“News
doesn’t have to be exactly new,
to appear here I will eventually get some of the better press about my books
added to this page, and some of them are from the early 1990’s okay? The truth
is I could add them add, there really hasn’t been that much and it has never
been bad. I studied journalism in college and started writing for the school
papers, so I have opinions based on a solid education which I feel gives me the
right to add what I want and avoid that which I didn’t care for…keep in mind
this is my web-page.”

Hidden
in Plain Sight: Contributions of Aboriginal Peoples to Canadian Identity and
Culture, University
of Toronto Press, September
22 2005, Edited by; David R. Newhouse, Cora J. Voyager, and Dan
Beavon ~ This history of Aboriginal people in Canada taught in schools and
depicted in the media tends to focus on Aboriginal displacement from native
lands and the consequent social and cultural disruptions they have endured.
Collectively, they are portrayed as passive victims of European colonization
and government policy, and, even when well intentioned, these depictions are
demeaning and do little to truly represent the role Aboriginal peoples have
played in Canadian life. Hidden in Plain Sight
adds another dimension
to the story, showing the extraordinary contributions Aboriginal peoples
have made. In part one of the book, there is an introduction to the book and
a profile of Chief Dan George, by Christine Armstrong that quotes RICK
& JIM'S REAL REEL INDIANS, by Richard A. Payne. This was a very
nice tribute to my book and something of an honor for me.
